Six years ago, we made it our mission to revolutionize data protection. What began as a vision has now become a reality for our clients: With us, data protection has not only been digitized. More than 1,000 companies, including ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE, RWE, and GLS, have high-performing data protection teams that collaborate seamlessly with business units thanks to caralegal.

Now is the time for the next big step in our company’s history.

The caralegal logo on a colored background represents the brand in the field of data protection and compliance.

Data protection as the foundation for tomorrow’s data regulation

Beyond data protection management, caralegal already offers solutions for risk management, complex international audits, and AI-powered DPIA checks. caralegal is always at the cutting edge of data law, and with the adoption of the AI Act this year, it became clear to us: The rapid development of AI and new data regulatory requirements have driven us to think about data protection in a much broader way than before.

It was time for our company to evolve in this direction: In 2024, we repositioned our product portfolio as a Data Responsibility Platform. We’ve modernized our brand identity. And we’re bringing a breath of fresh air to data compliance as a whole. With a new logo, new colors, and a revamped digital presence, we’re sending a strong signal for the future.

Good to know

Our goal remains unchanged: to make data compliance as simple and secure as possible for our customers within the Data Responsibility Platform.

Because: We make the legal way the lighter way.

What is Data Responsibility and why is it so important?

Data is a valuable asset. Since the introduction of the GDPR, the rights and freedoms of natural persons regarding data processing have been clearly regulated. At the same time, regulation in the field of IT security, such as through NIS2 (the second EU Directive on Network and Information Security) and DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act), is constantly increasing. With the new AI Act, the focus on ethical concerns such as inclusion, integrity, and social impact is coming even more to the forefront.

More and more companies are realizing that they need to take a more holistic approach to their data responsibilities. This means they must improve the collaboration with specialist departments to manage data securely and responsibly.

Good to know

At caralegal, data responsibility means handling data securely, ethically, and in compliance with the law. And with clear processes embedded in a user-friendly and robust platform.

Simplifying data law through Flow

caralegal’s Data Responsibility Platform brings together all aspects of data compliance into four user-friendly software solutions (we call them Flows): Privacy Flow, Risk Flow, Audit & Vendor Flow, and AI Flow. Our platform unifies data protection, risk, audit & vendor, and AI management in one place for all employees across the company. Cumbersome manual work with Excel spreadsheets is now finally a thing of the past.

In the four Flows, data protection experts work closely with the specialist departments. Documents are managed centrally in caralegal, and thanks to automation, teams save an average of 64% of the time spent on documentation - without the use of endless email chains.

How caralegal supports AI Act compliance

AI opens the door to new opportunities in the business world. Here, too, we remain true to our pioneering role and offer secure and easy-to-use management of AI applications in the AI Flow of the Data Responsibility Platform. caralegal’s AI Flow provides an overview of all AI applications and use cases - always centralized and consistent. The platform shows you step by step how to implement the requirements of the AI Act. In doing so, we rely on the proven, user-friendly guidance that our customers already know and trust.

Good to know

For us, data responsibility also means that tomorrow’s technologies aren’t managed with yesterday’s tools.

We help our customers manage new and cutting-edge technologies responsibly, so that progress remains not only future-oriented but in compliance with current data protection laws.

We’re on the journey to a data-driven future

We believe that regulations are meant to guide the world - not slow it down. That’s why we’re transforming how companies meet data compliance requirements:

  • automated: thanks to state-of-the-art technology
  • intuitive: thanks to user-centered product development
  • secure: thanks to decades of legal expertise
